A radio host commonly says "you alls..." , referring to more than one person.
And recently someone was talking about how important it is to be specific in communication, and said, "it's important to be pacific...very pacific..." (Maybe he said 'pecific and I heard it wrong?)
In a recent edition of The Star-Ledger, it was reported that a local fitness facility had to be evacuated because of an, "oder", of gas.
This was clearly not a typo, as the word, "oder", appeared twice in the brief article.
Rather, it was almost surely a case of a reporter who does not know how to spell common words, and who relies heavily on Spell Check.
Because there is a river in Eastern and Central Europe named, "Oder", Spell Check will not flag this as a misspelling.
Sign behind the counter in a convenience store today: sandwhiches.
The alternate misspelling of that word is, "sandwitches", which I observed in a NYC deli/bodega several years ago.
That particular establishment also listed, "role with butter", as one of their offerings.

I can picture witches who live in the sand. Sometimes they come out and roll around in butter. (Then they get fried?)
I guess I visualize too much and maybe that's why all the misspellings distract me so that I can't understand what they're trying to say.

There is a deli I know of that sells sandwitches and purposely spells it that way. It is located on Waterwitch Avenue in Highlands, NJ, but I think it is closed right now because of the storm damage. Just about everything on Waterwitch Avenue was flooded.
Edit: Just clicked on one of the links on the page, and they say "We Are Open". Glad to see that. Highlands was whacked hard by Sandy.
