Oh, it has its ups & downs. But then again, the guy got to wear a very snazzy outfit, with lots of brass buttons.

(Otis was one of the main US elevator manufacturers, back when elevators typically had an operator to open & close the doors, operate the lever [?] to raise & lower the car. This was up to the early 1960s, I think. After that, the lever disappeared, replaced by buttons, & then the operator wasn't needed anymore.)
