No, that would cause too much of a 'huh?' reaction. Most Aussies under 50 wouldn't know who Rolf Harris was, and the rest would think of him as some guy who lives in England who does a passable imitation of an Australian accent.
And the fact that he will die in Prison after being found guilty of multiple child molestations.
Australia's flag is superior, since we have the Union Jack plus the Southern Cross and a big star to represent the states .
No sorry, the Australian flag looks like an unsuccessful attempt of a 4-grader of creating a flag, by using paint and scaling down the Union Jack and adding an ugly tone of blue with some white stars. Same story with the rest of the countries that have the Union Jack in the top left corner, just looks awful.
The Jack looks way better then the star-spangled banner.
Really the American Flag and the Union Jack are basically both more similar than not. They are both British in origin and reflect anglo design elements. The US flag is heavily based on George Washingtons family crest in England. You will find similar design in the Washington family manor next to Althorp. All that being said, truth be told every time I see an American flag when I get back to the US I feel this sense of PHEW im home. That flag invokes a sense of freedom and identity and massive overwhelming power and scale that would make me choose it personally over the Union Jack.
I just wish Australia would get their own flag too! we don't want you either, you are an Asian influenced country with nothing to do with Britain, also the most racist country on earth don't bash the brits for a history you may hate, look after your original Australians better, love them, stop being racist, insular, bleach-blonde tossers, put the native Australian art work on your flag, or pee off back to Croatia, England, Ireland, Vietnam or wherever you originally came from.
