Okay first I want to say I am American. Anyway I was on a forum and saw this funny picture posted by someone in I think S. Africa. I wanted to know if other non Americas view us (Americans) as having this sort of mentality.

Yeah, this picture has been around for some time now. The world is just as, if not more, ignorant about America.

I did kind of to start off with, but then after visiting/working in the United States for a few weeks I relised that they knew alot more about the rest of the world.

Whoever drew that did a fab job - the only thing they forgot to add to Europe was smelly armpits and wonky shower heads that are like microphones and don't blend hot and cold water, so you get a partial spray of ice water and a partial spray of scalding water. But I can see where he/she had to keep the text to a minimum...

Love it btw!

Thank you, that made me chuckle.

Unfortunately, it's a myth that's perpetuated by much of American news media, then picked up and magnified by the media of other countries. That said, the map is pretty funny.

I think that the bad image of US and its people is so bad around the world due to the wrong way that the media and Hollywood expose it.
Unfortunately the freedom of expression is not always exercised responsibly. And, keep in mind that many people believe in what they see... no matter is real or man created!

As a patriotic American i could be offended by that map, but I'm not. I think it's kinda funny, especially the part that labels "yurop" as theme parks. haha.

I believe they had something like this except it was called 'the world according to Ronald Regan' more accurate IMO ^^... I think its funny, but I don't see the world like this at all...this was in the 80s mind you...note Seattle...Brazil...Cuba...and North us the USSR (IE: Palestinians)...I think your is based off of this, I actually have a copy of this...hehe...it's in black and white though...
