Contrary to popular belief, North America consists of more than just Canada and the United States. Geographically, Central America as well as Mexico are both part of continental North America.
What about the islands, though? Archipelagos like Japan and the Philippines are considered part of Asia. Madagascar is considered part of Africa. The whole Caribbean can't be considered part of the same continent, though, right? If we say it's all North American, does this really apply to islands like Trinidad or CuraƧao? Likewise, would islands like Cuba fit into the equation if the Caribbean were considered entirely South American? Is there an official or widespread boundary used by the geographic community to separate the West Indies between the two continents?

The island on the continental shelf of South America which include Trinidad and the Abc islands are in South America while the rest of the Caribbean is considered part of North America

As you can see in the map the Caribbean is considered part of North America.

You can see Trinidad and Tobago included in the map.

Though on the map theres a number key showing that parts of the Caribbean (Dominica, St Lucia etc) can be considered in South America. There isn't really a defined rule.

The Caribbean has its own plate, the Caribbean plat though because its small its not really considered a real continent (and it isn't)

All of the Caribbean Islands are North American. Also, the first map is quite wrong. Hawaii is much further south than that map depicts.
