There's a lot of historical animosity between the Japanese and Koreans, the Japanese and China, the Korean peninsula is still politically divided and technically at war. South Koreans and China AFAIK seem to be developing trade ties though historical and political animosities are prominent. Taiwan and China, to my knowledge, still do not acknowledge each other politically. However, give the collectivistic disaster of the EU a few more years to play itself out, and one might hope to see the superficially buried discord between its nation states erupt into infighting and xenophobia to challenge even the above.
Europe is mainly Christian, Atheist and a little bit Islamic.
The Far East has pretty much all religions represented!
How many days does it freeze in the North of EU and is it to hot in the South to wear clothes at the same time.
In the Far East you have this almost every day.
Fact: Japan is one of the most efficient countries in the world. The country is very poor in natural resources and often suffers with earthquakes, but they have a very high per capita income, no significative social issues and everything there works well. They do much with few resources, almost a miracle.
Not quite a miracle though. They had enslaved Koreans and Taiwanese for 50 years and occupied a large area of China (especially Manchuria) which has rich resources.
