Anyone know of jobs with early morning shifts that get out around 2pm?

I am currently finishing my college degree and have experience in customer service as well as the animal medical field.

I need a job with these hours so I can be home for my children when they come home from school.
Just curious if anyone knows certain positions that usually offer morning shifts.

There used to be quite a few part time jobs in offices/customer service type jobs where you could work mothers hours but with the recession I see less and less of them.

You may be lucky in retail.

I need 8-4 hours or around that, so I can work a full day, just no nights but can't find a darn thing.

Have you tried places like Starbucks? I remember when I was a teenager places offering mothers hours jobs (10-2) for things like office work, filing, data entry. I don't see that anymore, but you might be able to find retail. Or call centers? The drawback I see with those options is sometimes they want more flexibility out of you (like working weekends or some nights). We have a restaurant near our house that opens at 7am and closes at 2pm. If you can find a place like that, you can probably avoid working past about 230pm or so. But you'd still have the before-school hours to worry about.

My wife has tried for years to find those kind of hours. The problem is the kind of jobs that gave those hours (usually retail or things like McDonald's) in this economy want people who can change days/hours at will. My wife used to have a waitress gig at Pizza Hut that had those hours, but about a year ago they changed that and when she couldn't do it, was let go. A couple of years earlier, she had that with a call center, but then they changed that but she was able to work nights (actually 4-11pm) so she could at least drop the kids off at her mom until I could pick them up. But they sent all the jobs to India so that went bye-bye.

You might be able to get an office receptionist job with those hours if they're willing to go without a receptionist in the late afternoon or have 2 P/T employees for it.

I worked as a bank teller and worked 7:30-2:00. They needed me to do the opening rush and stay to cover everyones lunches.
