Your post has been something a little closer to my personal experience. I wish I would have quit IT myself personally. I am now kicking myself for staying in. I want to say that there ARE entry-level IT jobs out there, but they are limited and very difficult to get. It was difficult even in 2006, as the market never fully recovered from the dot-com era crash.

To make matters worse, I live in a little hick town hours away from any populated area, so I don't have the resources most would have.
