I simply answer this question with a "no" when asked. IMO, there is no discrimination going on.....it is just a question. As I have said in a few other postings, it is extremely hard to tell when, or if a company is discriminating. The is especially true when it comes to the "interviewing process". Hiring managers or HR isn't going to call you and tell you "the reason why we did not hire you is because you "are" or "have" whatever. What you will hear is, "we have decided to go with someone else who has more experience/better qualified."
The company could be under an affirmative action requirement to hire more hispanic employees. That's when it's legal to discriminate in favor of one group over another.

Affirmative action applies to African American......Hispanic are only trying take advantage of loop holes in the laws.

No it does not only apply to blacks. AA applies to any underrepresented minority. Have you seen that movie North Country? It's based on a true story about the first group of women to work on the iron range. That was affirmative action at work.
I always tell who and what I am, because when they interview me, they will see who I am.
If someone denies me the job based on my color, gender, or ethnicity, then they are bigots. They aren't interested in the best person for the job. Aren't we supposed to have gotten past the race thing for pete's sake?

No, Affirmative Action does not only apply to African Americans! It can apply to any or all minority groups, based on the reason the company is under a bona fide Affirmative Action plan.
It may be becasue they are a government entity or government contractor. It may be because they have been court-ordered (due to past discrimination problems) to institute an AA plan. Or it could be because they discovered a minority group prevalent in their surrounding community is under-represented in their workforce. If it's the 3rd reason, they have to have clear evidence to support an AA plan, otherwise it's just plain old discrimination.
And I do agree with Nebulous that we all should be long past this stuff by now.

There has been some talk on the news that we no longer need AA any longer, as we now have a black man as a candidate for president.
I went to an interview where she said that if I worked for her I could not hire old people or asians....I was like omg. Is that unethical or illegal to do that?
