How much do they make currently? Doubt it is enough to keep pace with ever-increasing inflation as far as the cost of living.

Plus, an increased salary is one thing. Other benefits need to be made mandatory for all employers to give to employees: Paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, improved rights for new parents (maternity/fraternal leave), etc.

That's a start, but I too wonder if it's enough. I used to work at K-Mart, and REALLY glad I got the hell out of there after a few summers. The job was boring and drudgery, but otherwise, wasn't too bad. However, some irate customers can push that over the edge.

That is awesome. Now WalMart will increase its prices enough to make up for all the raises. Thank a WalMart worker for the price increases.

.
They were making (where I live) $10 hr pre pandemic, got a $1.00 an hr raise during pandemic and now they are making $12 an hr. I do know that they pay their overnight shift $15.50 an hour, not sure why but this is also a much smaller group of employees.

I've noticed the signs at the local store. Not too bad & and I would be temped to sign up if I wasn't working. They are clearly short-staffed with long lines.

Nothing. I worked my butt off and retired in my late 40s. How about you?

According to the article, the average is $16.40 an hour which is pretty good. When my daughter worked there it started at $11 an hour a few years ago
