My last contract ended less than amicably. The staffing company, Burgeon IT Services of Hyderabad, India, and with an office in Delaware, took forever to pay me, and when they finally did, it was $560 short. Their deposits to my account did not indicate a pay period, but my calculations show that shortfall. They sent me a lot of gobblygook when I asked for pay stubs and I need a forensic accountant to make any sense of it. I think this going to be an expensive lesson.
Sorry, this is a staffing agency overseas and I am not familiar with their laws in India. But I think it's wise for people to avoid staffing agencies because the ones in America aren't very ethical, either.
Avoid all Indian staffing agencies. Lesson learned.
I try to do that, and look for emails from Bob, Joe, Ted, Alice, Linda, etc, but sometimes the only recruiters handling that account are Indian. How did they come to dominate staffing in the U.S.?

What they do, is set up an office in the US, and have the vast majority of the staff in India. Cost of living in India is very low, and so they pay those people nothing compared to a US worker to do the same job. So they have extremely low overhead in running the staffing firm. Although many of them list a US street address and local phone number, it rings through to that staff person in India.
So the US staffing firms trying to use all US citizens to work at the staffing agency would have a very difficult time trying to compete with them.
