It wasn't. I suppose some just enjoy going looking for drama where in fact none is to be had. Hence the whole digging up other/old posts to bring into threads.

That's what I thought as well - maybe this would free her up to work additional hours.

I don't actually think that poster meant it as a snarky response. I don't think a 'Why do you ask?' text is rude, I certainly didn't think the poster meant it to be snarky either but whatever. Hopefully I will get some answers from boss in person.
If you don't want to get offended by what people say here (or anywhere else), don't ask for opinions then overreact to things you don't want to hear. You asked what to make of the text, and we told you.

I am a bit confused. Any thoughts?
It is the most natural thing in the world, for this woman to ask such a question,

She is probably checking to see, if you will be able to do your current job with her.

If you have lost the other job, and you are looking for another job, the possibility of you taking a full time job is high, and she has to start scrambling to find another Nanny. Of course she is interested in knowing what she may have to do to be able to have someone taking care of her child/children.

What I would have thought strange would be, if she was not asking this question.

My wife and I are both in our latter 70s. We have had part time housekeepers since the early 1970s. We have had our current one for over 4 years. We always have the thought about this woman who takes care of the cleaning of the house, and if we don't feel like driving for medical appointment with a specialist located 50 miles away, is she will drive us there, and other possibilities we have discussed with her.

If we had been in your employers position, we would have done the same thing. The employer needs to know things like she asked, to be able to carry on with their own lives.

Yes again, that is a proper and important thing for an employer to ask. Don't look for a hidden meaning in the message you received. It is strictly proper, and helps the employer know what to look for changes in their own lives.

Except I didn't send a text like that which is why it is so bizarre that people are saying I did, I am annoyed as I didn't send a snarky response back.

Thanks to those who have made relevant, sensible, on point replies.

That's not at all what happened in this thread. As I've already pointed out, only one person in the whole thread said you sent a snarky response, and as I said, he was wrong. When others said things like, don't send a snarky or clever response to a boss, they're referring to trusso11783's comment:

I would write back, "it doesn't. Why do you ask?"
to which you replied:

Damn, I wish I had sent that now, it was a much better text then I sent.
They're not accusing you of sending a snarky or clever response, they're suggesting you not follow trusso11783's advice. As several people have said, you're overreacting. Put your annoyance aside, and reread the whole thread without emotion.
