This happened to me. I was offered the job, signed contract on the same day after the interview, and was told to wait for an email from them for the training. I heard nothing so I emailed and asked. They said position was already filled. I was sad and mad but more opportunities await ahead and life goes on.
Go to the interview and listen to advices here from everyone.
I'm just not sure what to say if they want to hire me and I have this other job lined up. It would be a difference of probably $400 a month and the one I'm waiting on comes with health insurance. The interview I got a call about today is for a local subway restaurant and I'm assuming only minimum wage and no insurance.
I just quit working at a Subway restaurant (4 years) and my boss did not offer health coverage either but I am married and my DH has the coverage. I'd follow up with an email or phone call to the first company you interviewed with. I don't think any of the Subway Franchisee owners offer health insurance. it is minimum wage. In NY it's $10.75 going up to $11.75 in December. Not sure how old you are. I took the job at Subway because When I was laid off from an office job in the insurance field the market was soft and I couldn't find a job. My boss had 2 stores. I was the manager at one of them and I loved it. sadly that location closed and I was transferred to her other location in September. Despite what she thought it was different and I did not like it as much. I needed a change so yesterday was my last day. I start a new job on Monday.
I had a job interview on 10/13, almost 3 weeks ago and I aced it. The hiring manager told me I'd start in 3-4 weeks once my drug test and background check were processed and that as long as I reply to all emails his secretary sends me, there won't be any probpems. This Friday will be 3 weeks and I haven't heard back from them yet. No emails or phone calls. I don't do drugs and have a clear record so there shouldn't be any problems with my drug test or background check.
I got a call today from another company who wants to set up an interview with me. This company would probably pay a little less but it's only 20 minutes from my.house as opposed to an hour away.
What should I do? Email his secretary and get an update? What would I say? Ignore the phone call about the new interview and hope to hear back about the first job?
Of course you should go on the interview if you have not received a job offer in writing from the other place. Plus it's better to have two jobs in pending status instead of one so always continue interviewing. Also still follow up with the other job so you can get an update on the hiring process.
