Might depend on the actual rates involved.
If $40/hr raised to $60, you betcha.
If $8 to $12, maybe not so much.

Obviously this thread is not intended towards a McDonalds cashier getting a promotion to Walmart assistant manager.

Maybe. But I really like where I live.

In my 30s? Yes. Now I have 2 kids in college and I'm not sure. That's a lot more, but my area has a good quality of life and a low cost of living.

Quite possibly the change in COL could make this a net sum zero total experience.

50% increase. How much of that would go to taxes? That would be my first concern.

100 miles in any direction would lower my cost of living. Lower COL with 50% more pay? Assuming the job is equal or better, sign me up.

Depends on the location and its CoL (being that I'm in a low CoL area)

But I'm not one to be tied down to any location.
My fiance is the same way, and we don't have any kids to complicate the issue.

Yeah, I'd be in. Not sure exactly where 100 miles from here would put me, but it'd have to be equal or lower COL, which would make it even better.
