Interestingly, I started working out a fitness place last year. The first month or so, the instructor in most of the classes I went to had the company's logo tattooed on him (I think it was his calf) . He had several other tattoos so it was not completely standing out. But, after a month or so, I never saw him again and he is not showing up on the schedule ever.
Now, this is a company that is growing in our area under the current franchisees and across the country through new ones, so it is possible that he moved to another studio that just opened up or even he was just working as training to open one of his own somewhere, but I was thinking it would sure suck to have this huge logo and be working somewhere else.
The article clearly states a 15% raise- not $15K, and yet the person quoted makes $25K and thinks she's going to $40K. "Said one employee: ‘I was like, “Why am I throwing my money away when I could give myself from a $25,000 to $40,000 for the same amount of work?”'. Well, 15% of $25K is $3,750. Kind of tells you how bright that one is.
A tattoo is permanent (yes I know you can get it removed but you'll still have scars) and a job is temporary.
What kind of moron would agree to this deal? If the company guaranteed an annuity for the life of the employee, in exchange for tattoo advertising for the life of the employee, then it might be a discussion worth having.

I noticed the typos in the quote at the start and decided to ignore it. After seeing them again here I wonder how a news agency would release such. i guess the bright employee wrote/published the quote.
I am not a big fan of tattoos but for a big raise, I would probably get one in a discreet place. But I think the idea is pretty dumb and I do not see where this enhances the company's professional image.
Hell no.
