These are the types of people who eventually started unions because so many of them were dying and being seriously injured on the job. What's the point of having a dangerous job when there is a significant chance of dying or becoming disabled?

The photo is said to have been planned with the guys who were really working there to construct the RCA/GE building in NYC. Taken on September 20, 1932 on the 69th floor of the building, about 849 feet up in the air. The photo has been credited to Charles C. Ebbets, although that was disputed for a time.
Supposedly, there was a floor beneath them, but I don't know how close it could have been since it's not seen in the photo. Even if there is, you couldn't get me up there for Bill Gates kind of money.
