When she does that, tell her you're not interested and to leave you the eff alone. You're just giving her excuses. She needs to know you are serious about never asking you again.
How are you doing, rlrl? Your posts made me very sad -- you sounded terribly stressed out, which I can understand from all you're going through. I've been a social worker for many years and wonder how you are able to do the work, tough enough on its own, with these extra stressors. Any chance you can make a change (if not now, when you're better)? You may've already addressed this and I missed it, so apologies if so.
Just throw away any hard copy invitations that are placed on your desk or in-box. Leave it at that. No reason to get into any verbal debates with anyone.
If she continues to place them on your desk, you say nothing and throw them away.
Verbally, just ignore discussing these events. If someone invites you, don't reply or give a vague reply that means nothing.
I work in this world myself and luncheons and presentations by drug reps is commonplace. I think, from what you've shared, that you have a problem with personal boundaries and that YOU may be creating some of this drama where there really is none. Just tell her, ''thanks but you won't be able to attend''. Then let it go.
Toss in your hormonal therapy and an Asperger's diagnosis and ''over-reaction'' is par for the course oftentimes. Plus all your other health stresses are probably why you feel so overwhelmed at all this.
You need to back off, calm down, and go fetch that cup of tea, like someone said. Lol
And maybe find a job outside of the mental health field. You might enjoy a less stressful environment where you can work peacefully and more independently away from this ''busy hive of worker bees''.
Best wishes to you in your recovery!
