Bills come before hobbies and recreation. So as of right now, if it pays the bills, you better take it. I love writing so I do that on the side but school loans and bills aren't going to pay themselves.
Being a "free spirit" isn't a free pass to speak without thought or be insulting.
For generations some of the world's most creative people took mundane jobs to feed themselves while pursuing their passions outside of work hours.
You may have to resign yourself to slogging away with the rest of us plebes.
Like I said,I've done that for the past many years and nothing to show for it anyway so maybe it's a risk I"m willing to take. Some of the greatest minds and entertainers have taken their lumps in order to be where they are,so sometimes that's what needs to happen.

These days, you can't be picky.
You might have go read back...I'm not being picky,I am doing what I need to do in the meantime.
Been there, done that...say it all the time. I actually had a pretty much fulfilling career in broadcasting early on...but then I ended up moving and stuck in one area and didn't have the options to continue in that,so I had to go for whatever jobs. And with the reduction in the economy, tighter job market, and working in certain fields for awhile thus having that on my resume now,my choices are few as ever. I'm just trying to follow my aptitude suggestions, and also discovering that I'm better at certain things than others now. And my employers are seeing that, for example I may be slower at some things and they're looking at things like that as if to say...why don't you find something you're better suited for?
HA! I've had that happen to me too. I'm not a very social person, so when i was bartending, people asked me why i did it all the time. I loved the fast pace and working under pressure, but i hated the lull and "small talk."
Sometimes its tough to chose when you excel at and enjoy so many things!
