I live in Houston, so I would obviously pick #1. We have no state income tax here, which is a plus.

If I was planning on relocating, #2 and #4 would be okay, although I don't like the desert that well so I would prefer #2.

#3 would be a last resort as California is an overpriced cesspool.

If you like 4 seasons and being close to the mountains, Charlotte is a great place. I'm surprised that the salary difference isn't much between there and Irvine. I understood CA salaries to be much higher than NC.

Charlotte. Forget Irvine, the higher pay is not enough to offset the higher cost of living. Both Phoenix and and Houston are too hot.

I'd pick 1 or 2.

Houston or Phoenix. Lean to Houston as there is no income tax and your dollar can go farther than many places here.

Never been to Charlotte.

Look at housing costs. Based on the list, I would choose Charlotte.

I would go with Charlotte if it was me.

Houston is HOT and the traffic is insane there.
