Ok so I got an interview with my county for a logistics job which is like a inventory kind of job for the IT equipment. I am more interested on dealing more hands on with IT rather than inventory but it had been the only interview I can land so far and don't want to lose a chance to gain some experience. Anyways the same county just posted a new job which is the type of job I want. I meet all the qualifications and have applied for it. My interview for the first job is scheduled for next Wednesday and the new job does not close till the 2nd of July. Should I mention that I am more interested in the other job and if so how should I go about doing it? Thanks guys.

I wouldn't mention it. Especially since you said you are lacking experience. I would apply for both jobs though (wait a few days after the interview).

Not sure what exactly what the position is, but if applicable, you could mention that you have the skills necessary for it.
