I am not talking about favorites as in brown nosers. Favorites because they have done a lot for the organization. There are a few "golden children" in my organization, as I seem to be one, where we can do no wrong and are given an incredible amount of freedom to do our work.
I am not complaining, because I have come to realize that I am one of the favorites in my organization (and because of hard work, not a brown noser). Favorite to peers and to the high ups. With that being said, I have realized things going very smoothly for me. For example let's say I am having a challenge with workload, right away they fix it for me. A couple of my peers have had similar workload issues and have been complaining for months and nobody will fix it for them. It took me less than two weeks to get my problem solved, it is taking my peers more than few months and it hasn't been solved. Basically for the most part I am getting what I want compared to peers with similar issues who are not.
So with that being do you see this happen in your workplace? What are some other reasons other than a major contributor? Is it because of personalities? People being attractive (physically)? Other crazy reasons?
