I recently graduated from Hunter as a Media major, but have been at a loss as to where to begin my job search. I've been frequenting the college's job bank as well as the websites of several media/production companies HQ'ed here in the city, but have had little luck. I've come across unpaid internships (most of which I'm no longer eligible for anyways) and positions which I'm underqualified for.

Apart from my degree, I also have a TV internship and a growing video portfolio under my belt, but don't feel like I have enough. I understand that the Film and TV industry, especially here in NYC, is competitive and insular, and I'm aware of what I got myself into (thankfully I didn't break the bank for my degree ). I'm just trying to make the best with what I've got at the moment, dig?

Any websites or resources I should be looking at, Film/TV jobs or otherwise? Also, what's the verdict on looking for jobs on Craigslist? I often see some enticing listings, but am hesitant to apply due to fear of being scammed.

You're going to have to pay your dues and work for free on some indie projects, network like crazy, and hopefully find a waiter job to hold you over until you can support yourself in that field. Not trying to burst your bubble, but it's a crazy industry and very difficult to break into. You get the experience to be qualified for the jobs you are seeing by working for free--credited if you are lucky-- for a couple of years.
