I see you gave 2 weeks notice, but my recommendation was going to be to try interviewing during off hours, such as before or after work. Some places are understanding of the fact we can't always take time off to interview and will agree to meet earlier or later.
Thank you for the suggestion! I work a schedule that only would allow me to interview on Saturday or Sunday. I may have to just wait until I've worked out my notice. I did go on one interview Monday after sending out my resume this past Friday. I was feeling pretty hopeful but each day that passes makes me think I could have done better on the interview. I feel like I've been emotionally abused in my current employment. It may take a while for my confidence to return.
I know it's already done, but if you're at the point where you're about to quit before having a job lined up.. why not take a sick day to go on an interview? You won't get fired for being sick.
I posted this on the other thread but just in case you all didn't read that one, I wanted to check in and let you all know that my last day was Friday ( I opted to do the proper thing and work out the 2 weeks), sent out some resumes Saturday, got a call first thing Monday morning, interviewed Tuesday morning, 2 hour "working interview" today, and got a job offer this afternoon. I start tomorrow! Thanks for all the advice, and I realize how fortunate and blessed I am.
