I'm not white in case you were wondering. Now I know one doesn't have to be white to be racist, but I'm not racist. I just wish my workplace was a LOT more diverse. But I have my dream job & am only on year 2, so I'm not going anywhere for a LONG time.

My last job was 90% white. The one I have now is a mix. We have a couple of American-born blacks and a couple of blacks who were born in Africa. We also have a couple of hispanics. I will say that the African immigrants I work with are much friendlier and seem to be very comfortable around whites. I am on very good terms with them. The same cannot be said for the American-born blacks I work with. They keep to themselves for the most part and seem to have a disdain for whites, especially the white males. Personally, I like working with people who look like me. It is a more comfortable environment. I know it's not PC of me to say that, but to be frank I don't care.

I feel what you are saying.
I also feel uncomfortable when I work around lots of males.
I also feel uncomfortable if the race of people I work around speak a different language.
So really, its more about language than race with me.

You seem to have a disdain for American-born Black people. You are projecting your own prejudice on to other people. Being PC is not necessary. Honesty is the best. You are honestly prejudice. Your so called being on good terms with African Immigrants doesn't hide that fact.

I'm the only black guy at my office and my internship, too.

Both environments are predominately Hispanic and I love it.

My retail position has significantly more women than males and the race is split about 60% white and 40% black, where my office positions have been prominently (100% white) with equally mixed genders.

I really do not care if you are white, purple, green striped or what not. Just because you do not think you are racist doesn't make it so. Going by your OP it would seem, you have a problem working with a majority of others that are a different race then you. This post you say you wish it was more diverse, but, your first post did not sound as such.

Predominantly, it is actually 100% one race at my place. I like it.

Think I'm racist? Eh, I'll sleep at night

Most of my coworkers are white but at my last job, my department was about 80% Indian.
