I am a teacher in Maryland in PG county. I currently teach Spanish, but I am getting tired of school teaching. I am fluent. I have lived abroad. I was thinking about changing my career to Speech pathology. I was also debating whether or not to stay in teaching and get my Master's degree in ESOL or Reading? I would like to know if employers would look unfavorably on me for changing careers......? Also, I would like a situation where I had smaller classes and more respectful students. Any opinions, suggestions or ideas.
In your professional opinion, on a scale of 1 -10 (with 1 being the complete opposite and 10 being almost identical) where would these postion changes fall?
I have sucessfully seen Pilots change to Chefs and I have seen elementray school teachers change to aircraft dispatchers. I think employers will wonder, but it really will come down to your explaination.
