You may think he looks like a moron, but to other people it may look like you're the one with the problem. Not responding when someone says something directly to you is passive aggressive and not professional.
I agree with the posters' ideas that we are not required to be friendly with each other at work. However, I think it is basic decency and part of a minimal level of professionalism to not act in a way that makes it difficult for others to do their job (i.e. someone who acts sour on purpose so that others will not approach her for assistance in things that are part of her job description).
