"I was told today by a co- worker that another worker who had been on the job since July had gone to Human Resources to complain about something having to do with not having enough money in her check and not having health benefits but that she had declined health coverage. when she complained to HR (and I don't even know what it was that she complained about exactly) the Exec Director fired her
I know it s going to be hard to know what to say since we don't even know what it was she complained about per se and what actually happened"
If you haven't discussed this, what is all of this?? And, what were you preparing to say?? and to Whom.
It looks like you all were planning to go confront someone?? about her firing?? Like several folks have suggested, better let it alone.
i never repeat what i heard and i don't have a reputation on my job for being a busy body at all. that's why i come here anonymously. i can be a busy body here and no one at work will have any idea i even make these inquiries. aren't i entitled to that?
and no i was never friends with this person
From your other posts you seem to prefer to keep a low profile, which is fine.
You don't like going to work related social functions(again fine) so I would stay out of this.
She was there less than 6 months, perhaps she just didn't past her probation period.
It would be different if it was someone who you had worked with for many years, was well liked, and then was suddenly fired and no one knew why.
From what you posted about her attitude and demeanor, it isn't that shocking.
I wouldn't even take part in conversations with coworkers about this if the subject comes up.
When complaining about whatever with an employer you need to be real careful what you say and how you say it.
You can be fired at any time for Gross Insubordination and this means NO UI.
I don't quite follow her refusing health care coverage then complaining about not having it ... In most cases if your employer provides heath care coverage you must take it unless you would be covered under another policy, this has nothing to do with "Obamacare" it has been the case for many years.
Who cares..mind your own business-one of my co-workers is going to be fired on Wednesday-because the CEO told me while I was in a meeting...I"m not saying a word..I have bigger plans to change careers and go back to school but for the next three months I need my check-so who cares-I'm sure there is more to the story.
y'all can stop posting sean in dublin summed it up quite well
