Men and women working together is a big change for us. Even on the old family farm, there was men's work and women's work. We don't really have that anymore. So, how are you coping with the new workplace? What do you think of it?
New workplace??? What on earth are you talking about? I have no idea what century you're talking about, but it certainly isn't anything that anyone currently in the workplace isn't already accustomed to.
The traditional and, it would appear, natural role for women is to be passive and helpful. Men are assertive and competitive. Those roles reassert themselves, whenever the pressure to behave as "equals" is taken off. It's like integration. Once the pressure to integrate stops, people go back to segregating. It's just the natural state. So, pretending that it's all over seems ignorant. Just because we had a sexual revolution and women, realizing men would just knock them up and leave, "decided" they wanted birth control and financial independence, doesn't mean it's gonna last forever. Once the sexual revolution is over, this will go with it. So, people who live in this are always having to adjust to it. It just isn't a "good fit." But, the topic isn't meant to be a complaint thread. The point is, we all have to adapt to it, to one degree or another. So, the question is, how is it going for you? What works for you and what doesn't?
Wait, you mean women can do more than just pop out kids and cook? When did this happen?
My tshirt that says 'I should be in the kitchen' seems oddly appropriate for this thread
