So again, I have decided to change my major to Journalism and go into Marketing. And yes it's journalism. I live in California and I heard I can probably get a marketing job. Any advice?
What kind of marketing? These days the best kind of marketing in demand is e-marketing. Social marketing, email blasts, etc. Marketing is good, you will need to be able to write. Although the marketing field is very transient, and you will likely experience layoffs on a regular basis. Get used to it. Also be prepared to freelance, you can make good money this way and many companies love to hire temp and contract workers only now.
OP-- have you taken anything like the Meyers Brigg test or any other kind of personality/career test?
Your interests are completely divergent and well--- just out there with how often they change.
I would suggest going to your college's counseling and career center to see if they can help you nail down what you would be good at, your interests, etc.

So you previously wanted to major in English to get a job in special education and now you want to major in journalism to get a job in marketing? You are in serious need of some career counseling. Whatever you want to get a job in is what you should major in, not this haphazard method you're using and it also should not be a split decision. You should pick something you're really interested in and can see yourself doing for many years.
