Overall, it's not going to be better in the private sector. This post could have just as well of been "Private sector employees to get a pay freeze." Businesses are all about the bottom line, and because of "at-will" policies, an employee can be terminated for any reason under the sun. I'd take a steady high-paying gov. job anyday. Even with a pay freeze, the majority of gov. employees have it good. Their high incomes contribute to the high cost of living (i.e. homes) in the DC/NoVa area, which sucks.

That's right. The private sector will work you like a dog if they can. Sounds like working for the gov. might not be a bad way to go. Though, it's tough getting through as a civilian—at least from what I've found
