Hello! We're currently living in rural north central Iowa but would like to lose some of the thunder storms and tornadoes without leaving the Midwest. Sturgeon Bay seems like a possibility weatherwise, and also as a small town with reasonable city access. I've been perusing the web regarding medical care, houses, ordinances, etc, but I'm wondering if there's someone on the forum who knows about small animal vet care there locally. We have several elderly little dogs who would "come with", and they need heart meds, dentals, etc. Thanks so much for any help you might be able to give.

Please note, you are not going to lose thunderstorms or tornadoes by moving to Sturgeon Bay.
We had very good care with our elderly dog and cats at the "Door Country Vetinary group/associates". They are located right in Sturgeon Bay.
We eventually had to put down one of our cats and they were very compassionate and went out of their way in helping our kids to deal with this sad event. Our dog lived to be 20 and our other cat was 21. Very good care indeed.

Default Retirement in Sturgeon Bay?

Nanannie, thank you for the information. Your elderly critters must have received "very good care indeed", at home too!
I know S. B. isn't totally devoid of T-storms and tornado dangers, but surely it must be somewhat less than north-central Iowa...I hope. Three of our dogs are storm-o-phobic, so fewer T-storms would be welcome.
We've considered going to El Paso TX, but we're Midwesterners at heart and would miss the green and the seasons. On the other hand, I realize we can't have everything, eh? (sigh)
