Hello. I am interested in coming to Williston or elsewhere in ND for oil work.
As I do not have any experience in the sector, I am looking for something entry-level. Also, I would be seeking a position that includes lodging in a man camp to avoid housing expenses. How are the odds of being hired on the spot for entry-level positions with lodging? Is there a time of year during which there are more openings? I would expect the volume of work activity to increase in summer, but so too the influx of workers to a point where I wonder if my chances may be better if I were to arrive between fall and spring. I have gotten in touch with JobsND and am researching the opportunities but would appreciate any tips or suggestions or any helpful info. Thanks a bunch!
I hear that right now is a good time to apply.
Especially as a CDL driver.
A lotta guys bug outta there between Thanksgiving & Easter and
come back in the spring.
So the pickings should be pretty good.
Just make sure they don't pay you with a rubber check or IOU.
I've heard there are a few smaller outfits doing that to their help.
