I have visited Dillsboro and Sylva many many times. I love the mountains, the railway and of course the white water rafting! I am considering a move to this area. I have 2 high school aged children. What is the best area to move? What are the areas to stay away from because of crime, bad schools, anything. I would need to be sort of close to a Hospital for job)and saw there is a Swain county and a Harris Hospital. So where are the best places to live for a middle class family? Thank you so much!!!
On another forum someone else had mentioned Weaverville. Looks like a very nice place! I like the Western NC area (West of Asheville) because that is where I am used to and love the rafting there. As long as there is a hospital nearby so I can work, I am willing to look around! K
if you have high schoolers they will hate Asheville... I grew up here 5th grade til graduation now in college... theres absolutely nothing to do really for high schoolers. Only outdoors in the day and bars at night and thats about it. I moved up from Orlando where I was used to having even downtown Disney open until at least 10 pm... I am now looking to move north.

Thats good to know! Perhaps I will wait til they are out of school and gone! I am looking for a place up in the mountains now in the same area for October. Thanks!!
