Opinions??? Specifically Fletcher and Arden? When we have visited in the past, seems like alot of families live in this area due to the good school system. Is Fletcher a little more "upscale"? Home prices in this area are in the 300's and up which comes as no shock to us coming from Florida.

Any other thoughts on Fletcher or Arden? Thanks.

Fletcher and Arden used to be mainly industrial areas, but due to plant closings that's not necessarily the case anymore. My hometown is Hendersonville; Fletcher is midway between Asheville and Hendersonville. There are some beautiful homes there and it is a convenient location between the two towns. If you're looking for something in WNC it's a good choice.

Default Fletcher and Arden

I live in Fairview, which is east of Fletcher and I love it. Fletcher in general has newer homes, where Arden's neighborhoods are a little older for the most part. Both are nice areas of town, with good schools. Also, your taxes may be slightly lower in Fletcher as most of Fletcher lies in Henderson County as opposed to Buncombe Co. Being an ex-Floridian myself, you will find taxes and homeowners insurance to be FAR cheaper than what you are used to in Florida. What seems expensive here is a drop in the bucket compared to Florida.
