Has anyone looked up the huge amount of sex offenders in this area?

I think you need to put those numbers into some sort of context. How many are there per 100,000 of population? How does that compare to neighboring counties? How does that compare to the state number per 100,000? How does that compare to other states? Is NC's sex offender registry law tougher than other states?

Just looking at the number tells you nothing.

One in my area is to many. We had two within a mile here but they are gone now. Closest is about 4 miles. They seem to congregate to one area here in Henderson County?

Well in Sylva there is 35 sex offenders and the total population is 2, 644! That's awful!

35 of them may have a Sylva mailing address, but I bet the Sylva post office covers a much larger area than just the town limits. You should use county boundaries.

The site I'm looking on gives there address so you can tell if it's in the city or the county lines, sadly they are all in the city.

I'm telling you that the address means nothing. Post office boundaries don't follow city limits. For example, I live in Southport. We have a post office. Large portions of the surrounding area in the unincorporated part of the county, along with the towns of Bald Head Island, Boiling Spring Lakes, St. James and others do not have a post office, and thus technically hav a Southport address, event though they are not in the city limits of Southport.
