Hello all! Me, my husband, and 6 year old son are thinking of moving to the area in the spring. My husband is a carpenter and I am a pharmacy tech. Can anyone give me a better idea of the job market for both of those fields? Also if anyone has information on the schools in the area. We own a home here in florida that we will be renting out while we try out NC. So how much do home rentals run in this area? It would need to be house or mobile home with some type of back yard as we have a pop up camper and 4 wheelers. We are making a road trip up to check the area up the first week in Sept. We will be spending a week. Thank you!!

Being a pharmacy technician, possible options in and around Hendersonville include retail pharmacy (drugstore, supermarket, hypermarket, wholesale club), hospital pharmacy, compounding pharmacy, and central fill pharmacy. Two retail pharmacies, both in supermarkets, will be opening in 2017.

Here are websites for the local newspapers. You will have to find an area in a County where there is minimum or no zoning in order to have a camper and 4-wheelers on the property. (not w/in city limits).

Also check on Google for property management companies by County in Western NC while you are here in September. Some major real estate franchises may have agents who deal with rentals or can refer you to someone.

Hendersonville Times-News and Hendersonville Lightning would be Hendersonville's local newspapers that are more in depth in coverage of Henderson County.

^^^ Just to clarify: Hendersonville Lightning is not a daily paper and has no real estate info, it's just a decent local yokel non-daily paper. Hendersonville Times-News IS blueridgenow dot com. And the Asheville newspaper covers a very wide territory; the OP did not specify Hendersonville -- only 'the WNC area'.

The title of this thread, "Move to Hendersonville," spelling and grammar corrected, is specific to Hendersonville.

I didn't say it had no real estate section. I said: " Just to clarify: Hendersonville Lightning is not a daily paper and has no real estate info, it's just a decent local yokel non-daily paper."

OPs don't want to read any nit-picking. Just the facts.
