How is the availability of townhouse or condo rentals in suburban Asheville ? One near open space wher a dog could be off lead would be a bunus. Thanks

Condos and townhouses available in South Asheville near the dog park run from $750 to 1350/month, per Zillow. Ones allowing dogs were $1200-1300/month.

If the dog park doesn't suit you, please look for state game lands, private hunting clubs, K9 off-leash training organizations, etc.

You might also check out the 4000 acres around the Montreat Conference Center. Their regs just say that pets must be under control at all times. Montreat is north of Asheville. Regs here http://www.montreat.org/wilderness-rules-regulations/ There are rentals in Black Mountain and Swannanoa for $650 and up, and they are mostly single family houses.

Or check this apartment complex (Hawthorne at the Peak) which has a pet park for resident's dogs: https://asheville.craigslist.org/apa/4717318696.html It is near Weaverville, 10 minutes from downtown Asheville.
