My Husband and I want to move to the Asheville area. He's a Bartender with an extensive craft cocktail background and I'm a bartender/server. We don't know the area well and we're wondering when is the best time of year for people in the service industry to look for work. Also, are there any places that we could possibly rent ahead of time so we'd have a place to land?
Hi Liz, As I understand it, early spring is the best time to find work in F&B in Asheville. People are ramping up for the busy tourist season. It's good to know also that many places, such as Biltmore, layoff staff in winter. There are plenty of rentals available in Asheville. Most require good credit & an income source, so maybe if you have the money to prepay 3-6 months rent? I moved to NC five years ago after living in the Caribbean & had to put down 6 months rent in advance because I didn't have a job lined up yet. All the best to both of you!!
