I just placed an ad in the Grant County Press because I have 2 single bedroom apts, though one is a single bedroom house that are available. They don't fit your criteria but you should get ahold of the paper. That's where most people advertise. Also, you can drive around Petersburg, if you've never been there it isn't very big and look for rent signs on properties. I also have a 3 bedroom small house for sale but it doesn't come with a garage though we did totally remodel the house. There is a good deal of propertie for sale and rent right now. There is a little paper called The Grapvine where people also advertise properties located just outside of Petersburg too. Good Luck
Don't laugh but, if you don't find anything via the newspaper, etc. (may also ask a local real estate agent - in some towns they handle rentals )... anyhow, if the usual routes don't work - try asking at the local stores, hotel, movie theater, restaurant, etc.
Son was working in Moorefield and was looking for a house - someone knew someone who's mom had recently passed -- they were toying with the idea of renting the house, so when they offer came along, they took it.
Plus, if they can see you in person - that helps.
Don't know where you are from, but that is the way it often works in small towns.
