And that team would be the WV Black Bears in Morgantown.

Under a new proposal, 42 minor league teams would have their affiliations with major league clubs severed. Here is a list of the teams that would be affected.

I loved the Charleston Charlies. Best logo ever.

Not that MLB cares but if they do this, I've attended my last MLB associated game.

I grew up with the Alley Cats but still have a Charlies hat my dad gave me as a kid! This seems like a dumb move on MLBs part although I noticed a few of these cities (Frederick and Hagerstown) are within 70 miles of DC and several others seem close to other cities with MLB teams as well- probably thinking they can draw a few more people into their stadiums to pay through the nose for mediocre seats, beer, food and merchandise.

For states and cities that have recently spent a lot of money on a new stadium, or renovations, I wonder if we'd see legal action filed against MLB if they lose their team?

This is sad. If the MLB wants baseball to continue to grow and stay relevant, they will need the interest these minor league teams bring. People go to Power games to watch potential big timers, and of course enjoy the fun atmosphere!

And it's affordable. You don't have to pay $30 to park. I don't know if MLB thinks if they dilute the local options that people will make the effort and spend the money on the big leagues but I won't.

I'm in full support of getting rid of the smaller teams like Princeton and Bluefield but I don't understand the decision regarding the Power

Cut, cut, cut. The owners have to make $$$$.

Sick of everything sports becoming all about $$$$.

This move will reduce the number of guys getting an opportunity to develop into a next level player as well as take away a great, clean, entertainment option for baseball fans. Some people only became fans because of Minor League Baseball.

I am all for leaving it the way it is unless it is clearly a loss to maintain a location.

Totally agree. Great comment. You should be in baseball management.
