I believe you are speaking of Bayard.
A little coal mine town on Rt 50 in the corner of Grant County.
A small power plant is nearby and the coal generated locally feeds that plant.
The land is generally flat...a part of the mountains plateau.
Remote...with an elevation of about 3,000 ft.

yes,sorry on the spelling and thanks.I didn't know if anyone had lived in the area , jobs, farming, shopping etc..?

It's a very rural area... We played the area in Basketball when I was in high school.. Union High School... the championships for the local area where usually held there.

The only thing that comes to my mind was a murder there that happened a looooonnngggg lonnngggg time ago.. I'm thinking my parents said it was the early 80s maybe... something involving a police officer and a missing younger girl??? Not sure...
