I moved to WPB a week ago, and I need to set up high speed internet service. I had AT&T's DSL in my old house. I was so disgusted by the poor quality and lack of service that I will never deal with At&T again.

So, what are the alternatives? I know Comcast offers service, but I've also heard bad things about them. What do you use, how much does it cost, and how do you like it?

Thanks,
Doug

I change over to att I only got the middle rate speed . for 1 computer could not tell the difference in speed at all. always dependable. If there was a issuse fast service and they come out and correct at no charge and offer compensation. I can't wait till att can up the mgb. in my area. basic phone line and high speed is under $50

I had at&t at my office and hated it. I have Comcast at home and the service is decent. I have internet specific outlet (I do not split the signal to go to a t.v. and than go to the computer).

I recommend you purchase your modem rather than rent it for $5.00 a month. Available at Best Buy

I also have installed a wireless router so I can access it with laptops throughout my home. I have had as many as 5 computers using the system at once and have had not issues.

I also have a wireless printer, so it can be used by any computer in the house. I love the convience - I can be online in the living room, and print something on the printer in another room. My husband (who is a college Professor) can use the same printer from a different room

You can also get a wireless device that you can use on your computer (Sprint & Verizon both have the devices) Advantage is you can log on from home or your car or any place you want. The cost is a bit higher than using Comcast.

Good luck
