Amazing. . .you want to MOVE to BOCA? I think I am posting the most real response here. We live a block from Addison Mizner Elem. My daughter tested very high for the gifted program for Kinder. almost two years ago. I can literally walk out to my driveway, and see my daughter enter the school grounds. We have now sent her to St. Jude School for the second year. We could not be any happier. My daughter loves her school, and all the activities they do to raise money for the less fortunate including the fall fair. . .especially the fall fair. Even without the catholic education, it is an amazing school for the money. WHY?

Mizner Elem. is VERY FCAT focused which is sad to hear. The kids are missing out on many other factors. Think about this: 800 kids at Mizner grades k-5. St. Jude has only 400 AND that includes k-8! 800 kids means 800 parents wanting to talk to the principal/vice princ. etc. . .We could not get a simple walk-through appointment before registering our daughter! They are so busy. . too busy for their own good. We also noticed the dirty grounds, and how the teachers could not tidy up themselves or the classrooms during their once-a-year open house. It was embarassing. I think parents get caught up in the whole "A-rated" thing with blinders on. It's only based on FCAT tests.
All the county monies go to the less rated schools, while parents have to front up money to buy computers at Mizner. . .Sad again.
Anyways, stay away from Boca. . it's not worth the commute. I can't believe you moved from Boston. But, I guess work is work. . . We only stay here because our family lives here, and it's good while our kids grow to a more decent age. Good luck to you and your family with your choice. Y.M.M.V.

I agree on the "a rated" thing, i'm not in favor of the whole rating system and how it all works, but then the other question is, do you prefer the non "a" rated schools? not everyone can afford a private school
