Palm beach schools are on hiring freeze right now. Be careful.

I am in Broward and nobody is hiring due to budget cuts. I am losing my assistant next year and we are losing some specials.

Even though he has a contract, be careful. Last ones in are the first ones out. So if things get worse, which looks like they are, he will be first to go.

Just a warning.

If he can get in, enjoy it.

My wife and I are both teachers down here and love it.

Hate it to say it...but I told you so. Hopefully the Georgia teacher did not come down here...she would still be unemployed if she did !

If your boyfriends job offer is able to support the both of you, then make the move. The Counties are cutting back. Getting a teaching job mite be hard to do. I have a bussiness partner who also runs a private school. Let me know when you are coming down and I will set something up.

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with a permanent teaching certificate from NY. My family relocated to SF last September. I've decided to stay home with my two young children for the time being since we are now able to afford to live comfortably on my husband's salary alone (we are not "spendthrifts").

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the job market is like for SLP's down in SF and what the typical salaries are for someone with about 10 years experience in NY?
