Hi All,

My wife has a potential job opportunity around the area where Good Samaritan Hospital is in West Palm Beach. We have two boys, one in 4th grade and another that's a sophomore and are looking for cities that are family friendly and were the commute during rush hour would be less than 45 minutes.

Max budget that we are looking to spend is 700k max on a house. Looking for good schools and family friendly areas.

Thanks!

Check out Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington and maybe Jupiter.

I would encourage you to look in areas such as Flagler, South Olive and even Northwood which offers nice neighborhoods, great school options and close proximity to the Hospital. It shouldn’t be too bad of a commute even with school drop offs. If you want to expand that I’d look at West Palm Beach 33417, Royal Palm beach 33411 and even in Lake Clark Shores 33406z There are so many beautiful neighborhoods here. Lastly, I’ve learned that a matter of minutes determines the ease of your commute, I’m a native of West Palm ??????

Thanks for those recommendations! It looks like we'll be moving forward with the move and we're excited to start looking for a new home. If anyone has any other cities/subdivision that they recommend we'd love to hear about them.

Any feedback on the Versailles subdivision in Wellington? Pros/Cons? We've found a home there that we like and are curious to hear feedback from those that know the area.

Thx!

Versailles in nice, it's on the edge of Wellington and W. Lake Worth. Your kids would be zoned for Polo Park middle (solid) and Palm Beach Central High (honestly not the best, but not the worst). If I were in your position and with the budget you have, I would search the schools first and work backward from there. Park Vista is one of the top high schools (located in West Boynton), along with Wellington High, which is much further west than the Versailles area, more in the heart of Wellington. I've lived here all my life and if I could move anywhere in this area it'd be Wellington hands down (school zones Binks Forest El, Wellington Landings Middle, and Wellington High).

Central is a pretty bad school. None of the schools in the northern half of PBC are all that great now, too many rough kids. Wellington might be a little bit better

Per Schooldigger, Central is rated 191/732 and Wellington is rated 140/732. So according to the rankings, neither school is lacking in the academic department. In terms of student population, the entirety of Palm Beach County leaves much to be desired. As mentioned already, Jupiter High is another great option for the OP.

That’s a bizarre rating system. I will tell you that chances are almost every parent in the area would probably rather have their kid in Wellington high then Central
