Hi everyone, I am considering a job in South Florida and need some help deciding where would be an ideal spot to live, a specific neighborhood suggestion would be great.

I lived in Toronto Canada for a long time, and also NYC for a year, so I realize it would be a big adjustment in terms of lifestyle.

The job is located in WPB and may potentially relocate to Delray Beach in 2019.

I am not familiar with anything in Florida other than Miami so I used common sense to narrow down three locations where I could live (wpb, delray, boca), but if I am missing out on something please let me know.

About me: early 30s white male, single, good job so apartment rent cost is not an issue, prefer driving commute under 30 mins, if possible an ability to walk to surrounding amenities under 15 mins, if possible a downtown/urban environment, some nightlife options would be great, if possible somewhere with a young professional community (ages 25-35) so it would be easier to make friends/possibly find a significant other.

Thank you in advance for your help.

When I first moved to Delray, I used to go to West Palm every weekend. It was awesome then. I still think downtown West Palm is good for walk-ability and the apartment buildings have good amenities, but I don't think the nightlife and downtown is the same as it used to be. I prefer living in Delray. There is a great variety. Culture, shopping, innovation, forward thinking. Some say it's too busy but it's not like New York busy, and in my opinion, Delray is always striving to better itself.

I'm ironically from TO and lived in NYC for almost 8 years: nothing else will compare to either. in NYC you can bascially walk to almost everywhere or jump on the train and be where you want to be (as long as it's not broken, late, or any other of the myriad of issues plaguing the MTA).

IF you moved around City Place in WPB, you would have some areas to walk to, but if you are really looking for nightlife, nothing is going to beat Atlantic Ave. And if you can rent a place nearby, you'll have coveted assigned parking and you'll be able to walk over there. And the Boca border is at most 15 minutes away, and frankly IMHO Boca has better restaurants and stores than Delray (I'm not even going to compare shopping in NYC to SoFLA, there is no comparison).

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
