Congrats! I ( and there's a good chance I speak for the rest of us!) am soooooo glad you decided to rent.

Tri was correct about Boca for you after all.

And yes, Delray doesn't have much in the way of apartments that I would like. I've always thought the best bets were getting lucky with a duplex or small complex near the beach.
Many of those have been demolished or turned into halfway houses; some are just way too tiny.

Hope you head upto Riverbend Park and Jonathan Dickinson in Jupiter for walking/biking when it gets cooler.

Also, if you go west on Okeechobee to Jog Rd and make a right there is a place called Apoxee Park. It's across from an apartment complex but gives you a remote, out of the way feel. On a weekday it's possible you won't see anyone else. You can bike there too.

We can not decide. At first, we looked at 7 houses in Boca, Delray and WPB each, but now we have decided that we are going to rent.
That's why I kept saying, just come down and drive around. There is a misconception that everywhere is 5 min from the beach, every area is upscale, every area is safe. Which, as you know now, is completely not true. It's a big place.

Just keep an eye on housing prices and areas of development. Construction is ongoing. Watch traffic patterns. Driving during season is awful.

I have to say that most of the areas are nice and safe ( At least the ones I have visited in Delray,WPB and Boca). Yes, there are pockets that did not look safe, but overall Boca and WPB downtown seemed very safe and clean to me.
I loved Delray! The vibes and the theme are unique.

Next year I will buy a house so I am going to keep investigating the areas.
So far, Delray is one of my top options.

Thanks a lot for your help.

There is a thread here called "sober houses" that you should read and just kinda keep in the back of your head when you are ready to buy, especially if you are looking to buy in Delray. Good luck.

Avoid west palm beach because people are rude and may be on drugs.
