I quite literally just moved up from Miami to boca about two weeks ago.
You mentioned in one of your posts that PBC is like a different world compared to Dade and it's true to an extent.... It is very different, but not so different where you'll feel some type of culture shock. First thing I noticed was the traffic..... there hardly is any! It's so nice. I was in living in kendall where traffic was a constant. I lived right along kendall dr and was almost used to allowing so much for time for traffic.... here in boca the only "traffic" is the cars that accumulate at a red light. Even 95 during rush hour, while it can be slow it's still better than the Palmetto is on a random saturday afternoon. .

Anyway, I like Boca because it's so clean and neat looking. The roads are all perfect the medians are landscaped and it just looks nicer. . . Less people, nice shops. I like it so far. It's still south Florida, but it's def different culturally than Miami.. . . more northeastern Americans here, which is uhh interesting...

In PBC it does seem there are many nice communities located "out west"... however I think saying u live east of 95 still has some cache about it. . . . I moved to a community about 2 miles east of 95 off glades and like it.

Western Palm Beach County is still being built up in many parts of the county and those parts are beautiful. Many of the new development that is taking place out on Lyons Road is breathtaking. You have many multi-million dollar housing communities being built. BUT, there are also some communities, especially in the southernmost parts of PBC where the housing is very old and you won't see very many country clubs.

Either way, it is a matter of preference and where you are going to be working as to whether or not you want to live in the 95 corridor or the Florida Turnpike corridor.

Go west a bit to Old Germantown. Some houses about 500,000 and then up to a couple of million. Absolutely gorgeous.

Then go south of Linton east of Federal. Tropic Isle and Pelican Harbor. Beautiful neighborhoods. Lived there many years.

Those neighborhoods were thriving long before that corner shopping center. Lovely homes on the intracoastal and canals. Many are relatively new as there were some empty lots and also the older homes were knocked down.

But Wellington is your thing. So be it!

I am prejudiced against the newer developments out west because I remember when most of them were beautiful natural areas with huge trees etc. or open farms.
Some of the entrances to me look tacky and overdone. It's like having a billboard or something. Yuck.I love the simple elegant wrought iron gate and mature trees if Foxe Chase. Nothing ostentatious.
