I've seen on previous much older posts that Palm Springs is considered to be 'so-so', is that still the case? We have relatives that live off of 'Springdale Blvd' in a 55+ community, however we have an 8 year old, and schools are important to us. Can anyone give me some insight and do you know anything about the 2 elementary schools, Clifford O Taylor and Palm Springs Elementaty.

Stay away, not a good area. Go west to western Lake Worth or wellington. Here are the Palm Springs assigned schools

3 out of 10
Clifford O Taylor/Kirklane Elementary (assigned)
K-5

6 out of 10
Palm Springs Middle (assigned)
6-8

4 out of 10
John I. Leonard High (assigned)
9-12

Thank You for the school links, they are very helpful. Can you tell me why it's not a good area...Is it the crime, Mod edit, dirty etc...

Palm Springs is a tiny town sandwiched between West Palm Beach and Lake Worth. There is a lot of crime related to drugs like property crimes, theft, prostitution etc. It is primarily a Hispanic community of hard working folks, but is an older area and pretty run down in many spots. You would be better off a little further west in Royal Palm Beach or Wellington, safer area better schools.

Thanks Vincent, Royal Palm is on my list as well....My husbands aunt says she loves Palm Springs but then again she's retired living in a 55 community. We have to think of schools for our 9 year old and the job market which is something she doesn't need to worry about.
