I'm from NJ, thinking of retiring some place warm, and near the ocean. I was following a zillow listing for a small home in the historic district. What is the area like? Would you feel safe walking a dog late in the evening? It looks like its near some upscale retail, is it a dry commercial area or more like a town main street.
It seems the home sold quickly, but about 15 % off asking. Thanks Marty D

P Street is in Grandview Heights, the-diamonds-in-the-rough neighbor to Flamingo Park.

Honestly Grandview is still in transition, but not in an unsafe way. Just some of the properties are not as unkempt. You have completely renovated beautiful homes next to an unkempt house. Eventually I think it will be discovered for its potential. For what it's worth I think the 600 block of P street is a mostly well kept street.

Grandview Heights is walkable to Cityplace to the north, as well as a commercial strip on Dixie. A large hotel is being built just on the other side of the townhomes that mark the border of Grandview Heights from downtown/Cityplace, which will add access to restaurants, etc. There are warehouse businesses to the east of the neighborhood, bordering the tracks, and Howard Park (and dog park) to the west.

I walk my dog all through Grandview and Flamingo at night all the time.

Thanks, it sounds a little like where I am now. I wouldn't fit in a neighborhood where every home was perfect.
